If some rooms or parts of your home do not have their own ViCare Radiator Thermostats, you can still assure that a given area (here referred to as “Other Rooms”) can be controlled via the ViCare app. For example, on the ground floor of your home you may have thermostats installed in your living room, dining room and kitchen but not in the adjoining office. The office can still be linked to the Smart Climate system and controlled via the app so that the heating and temperature levels are properly balanced.
Within the ViCare app “Other Rooms” can be created during the commissioning process. The feature "Other Rooms" is available for Viessmann's newest generation of heating devices, released from 2019 and later. The number that appears by the name "Other Rooms" is referring to the respective Heating Circuit. For example, for Heating Circuit 1 this will result in "Other Rooms 1" and for HC2 in "Other Rooms 2".

Each “Other Rooms” temperature value on the ViCare app dashboard is the temperature set manually. It means that valves in this area cannot set the temperature thus you cannot directly operate ViCare Radiator Thermostats. Yet, it is highly recommended to set Time Programs for “Other Rooms” as well – either manually or with Time Assistant. It will prevent the situation when the temperature in this area drops too low.
What is shown on the “Other Rooms” tile on the dashboard of your ViCare app is a reading of the temperature that has been manually set.
In most cases, the right valve positions to be set manually are as follows:
- 1 which corresponds to 12oC
- 2 which corresponds to 16oC
- 3 which corresponds to 20oC
- 4 which corresponds to 24oC
- 5 which corresponds to 28oC
If you wish to deactivate this feature, you can do so in the advanced settings of your ViCare app. This means, however, that you will need to manually ensure the right radiator valve position to reach the desired temperature.
Tip! "Other Rooms" can be renamed to your choice (e.g. "Office" or "Back Hallway") so that it appears with this name on the tile on your ViCare app dashboard.
