The mains-powered ViCare Repeater extends the range of the low-power radio used by the ViCare components to communicate with each other. It is therefore particularly suitable if the range of the signal is reduced by walls, ceilings or furnishings.
The following conditions can interfere with reception:
- Radio signals are attenuated on the way from the transmitter to the receiver, e.g. by air and when
penetrating walls. - Radio signals are reflected by metallic parts, e.g. reinforcements in walls, metal foils of
insulation and metalized thermal insulation glass. - Radio signals are shielded by supply blocks and elevator shafts.
- Radio signals are interfered with by devices that also work with high-frequency signals. Keep at least 2 m away from these devices:
-
- Computers
- Audio and video systems
- Devices with an active Wi-Fi connection
- Electronic transformers
- Ballasts
-
Please note that your heat generator must have an appropriate interface to the internet (Vitoconnect OPTO2 or Viessmann One Base).
The commissioning of a repeater within a new installation should be carried out in this order:
- Heat generator or coordinator
- ViCare Repeater
- End devices (e.g. ViCare Radiator Thermostat, Floor Heating Thermostat or Climate Sensor)
In an existing installation, you should switch the heat generator or ventilation unit off and on again for approx. 15 minutes so that the ViCare components can use the best connection.
